Search and anchor citations

An anchor links one sentence of your .tex to one paragraph of a PDF. Clicking the sentence opens the PDF on the right page with the paragraph highlighted.

  1. Select the sentence in the editor.
  2. Click Search (Buscar) and look through the paragraphs found in the project’s library.
  3. On the paragraph that supports the sentence, click Anchor and cite (Anclar y citar): the sentence is anchored, gets its \cite{} and turns yellow. Anchor only (Solo anclar) anchors without adding a citation.

To remove an anchor, right-click the sentence and choose Remove anchor (Quitar anclaje). The text and its citation stay.

Search combines words and meaning: a Spanish question can find an English paragraph. It works best:

  • in English (most papers are in English), even if your text is in Spanish;
  • with several phrasings of the same idea (“traffic emissions”, “vehicle NO2”);
  • with specific terms (method names, pollutants, places) rather than generic ones.

Your AI does this automatically when it searches through the connector.

A factual sentence with no supporting paragraph is written as [SIN FUENTE] instead of inventing a reference. Home counts them per project so you know what is left. Either find a source and anchor it, or rewrite the sentence.

When your AI cites through the connector, each citation comes with a “view paragraph” link. It opens Underanchor on that exact paragraph, so you (or your reviewer) can check the claim in one click.

Provenance report (Informe de procedencia) lists every sentence next to the paragraph it comes from, with a summary (sentences, % with a source, articles, open comments). Open it from Share (Compartir), in the section For people without an account (Para quien no tiene cuenta). View report (Ver informe), Download .html (Descargar .html; print it to get a PDF) or Create link (Crear enlace) to share a frozen copy with a reviewer, committee, journal or client. The link needs no account, shows only the cited paragraphs, can expire and can be revoked.

“The file changed on disk: press Reload”

Section titled ““The file changed on disk: press Reload””

If your AI edited the document while you had it open, Underanchor asks you to press Reload (Recargar) before anchoring, undoing or removing an anchor, so nothing is lost.
