Libraries and PDFs
A library (biblioteca) holds the PDFs you will cite. You can have several (one per thesis chapter or topic), each with folders. Every article lives in exactly one library.
Upload PDFs
Section titled “Upload PDFs”- Home → Libraries (Bibliotecas) → open a library, or Create library (Crear biblioteca).
- Drag PDFs onto the panel. Processing takes a few seconds per article and runs in the background.
- When it finishes, every paragraph is ready to be anchored. Figures and tables are citable too (by their caption).
Underanchor reads each paragraph with its exact position on the page. A block whose position cannot be read is discarded rather than guessed, so a citation always points to the real place in the PDF. Scanned PDFs are read with OCR when the server has it (slower, and the import message says how many pages were read that way); handwriting is rejected.
Import from Zotero
Section titled “Import from Zotero”In Libraries, click Import from Zotero (Importar de Zotero) and choose:
- With your Zotero account (Con tu cuenta de Zotero) — your userID and a read-only API key, created at zotero.org. The key is only used during the import and is not stored.
- With an exported file (Con un fichero exportado) — export the collection from Zotero (with files, or the PDFs will not come along), zip the folder and upload it.
Pick the destination library and, optionally, a folder.
Search inside a library
Section titled “Search inside a library”The search box of an open library finds articles by title, author, year or key and paragraphs by
their text: the matching paragraphs appear below, with the words highlighted. Click one to open
the article on that paragraph. The address bar follows you (/bibliotecas/…), so reloading or
sharing the link lands on the same article.
Read, highlight and annotate
Section titled “Read, highlight and annotate”Open an article to read it: the PDF fills the whole window, with no toolbar. A side panel on the left has the way back to the library, the article’s title and three tabs (hide it with the button in its header; with it hidden, a floating button at the top left brings it back, and it remembers your choice). The page number floats at the bottom left while you read.
- Sections (Secciones): the article’s sections in reading order. Click one to jump to it; the one you are reading is marked as you scroll.
- Library (Biblioteca): the other articles of the library, by folder. Click one to read it without going back to the library.
- Annotate (Anotar): the Highlight (Subrayar) and Note (Nota) tools, the colour, and the list of everything annotated in this article (click an item to go to it).
You can also annotate without opening the panel: select text and a small bar offers the four colours to highlight in one click, or Note (Nota) to highlight and write a note. Right-click on the page offers the same, plus Add note here (Añadir nota aquí). Your AI can see these highlights and notes and uses them as a hint of what matters to you.
Edit the reference
Section titled “Edit the reference”Each article has BibTeX metadata (entry type, title, authors, year…). If something came out
wrong, use Edit (Editar) on the article; the citation key is what goes into \cite{}.
Articles without sections
Section titled “Articles without sections”If an article shows no sections, it was processed without the structure detector. Search and anchoring still work; only filtering by section (“Methods”, “Results”) is unavailable, and the Sections tab of the reader offers page numbers instead.
Limits
Section titled “Limits”During the beta the free plan allows 500 articles, 5 GB of PDFs in total and 100 MB per file. See Account, plan and settings.
